Bechtel Corporation is looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Engineer to join their team in Riyadh for the prestigious Expo 2030 project. This is a chance to play a hands-on role in shaping the infrastructure for one of the world’s most anticipated global events.
About the Role
You will be based in Riyadh, working directly on the Expo 2030 Masterplan. This project is massive—spanning 6 square kilometers and expecting over 40 million visits. Your primary focus will be providing essential construction support, from technical inspection and material management to system turnover.
Bechtel is looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will coordinate with contractors, ensure safety and quality compliance, and manage the complex electrical installations required for both the event and the long-term legacy development of the site. Be prepared for a high-intensity environment, as this project requires 24/7 operations, including night and weekend shifts to meet accelerated delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Execution: Assist in developing construction methods and procedures while troubleshooting engineering challenges alongside the management team.
- Site Management: Monitor daily site activities to guarantee that all electrical work meets safety and quality standards.
- Drawing & Documentation: Interpret design drawings, create “as-built” records, and manage vendor drawings for temporary facilities, MV/LV/ELV duct banks, and sub-stations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Attend regular progress meetings with contractors and handle interface management to keep the project on track.
- Material Oversight: Track material deliveries, review quantity takeoffs, and flag any discrepancies immediately to your supervisor.
Eligibility & Requirements
To qualify for this position, you need more than just a degree. Bechtel is seeking professionals who understand the nuances of large-scale infrastructure.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience is required.
- Technical Skillset: Proven experience with electrical installations, including package sub-stations, panel installation, and cabling.
- Regional Experience: Prior work experience within the GCC is highly preferred; experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is a major plus.
- Soft Skills: You must be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and comfortable managing priorities in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment.
