This is a chance to step into a leadership role where you will drive project timelines, mitigate risks, and mentor upcoming talent in a fast-paced global environment.
Role Overview
As a Senior Planning Engineer at Vanderlande, you are the backbone of project delivery. You won’t just be sitting behind a desk creating charts; you will be the bridge between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams. If you enjoy breaking down massive projects into actionable milestones and using Primavera P6 to solve real-world logistical puzzles, this role fits your profile. You will be presenting your findings to stakeholders and ensuring the entire team moves in sync to meet global standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Management: Own the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules using Primavera P6. You will handle everything from WBS development to critical path analysis.
- Progress Tracking: Regularly track project health through S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis.
- Risk Mitigation: Anticipate delays before they become problems. You will identify schedule risks and propose recovery plans that keep the project moving.
- Contractual Support: Provide technical expertise for EOT (Extension of Time) claims and delay analysis.
- Team Leadership: Act as a mentor for junior planning engineers, reviewing their deliverables and pushing for better standards across the board.
- Stakeholder Presentation: Communicate schedule performance and corrective actions clearly during project review meetings.
Eligibility & Requirements
Vanderlande values professionals who have seen projects through from start to finish. To be a strong candidate, ensure you meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelorβs degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering.
- Experience: At least 10 years of professional experience in planning and project controls. Prior work on large-scale infrastructure, EPC, BHS, or MHS projects is highly preferred.
- Technical Toolkit: You must have advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Power BI and MS Project is a major plus.
- Core Skills: You should be comfortable with baseline scheduling, resource planning, and complex delay analysis.
- Soft Skills: Leadership is non-negotiable. You need to manage a multicultural, multidisciplinary team effectively and communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
